What about the little card we use to carry in our wallets that identified us as a minister. I can't find one now ,but I think it showed we were publishers of Wtbs.Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Doesn't that show we are an agency of the Wtbs while involved in the ministry activity. I probably missed the meeting were they read the letter to destroy those little cards!

I am reading the Crisis of Conscience book first.Thanks for the advice. I have to read it while "others" in the household are away, except last night I couldn't wait .I resorted to hiding it under a blanket whenever anyone came into the room. I'm half way through chapter 3 and I can tell this book is going to cause me to go through some difinite degrees of raw anger. ex:I was married in the seventies, and I remember being so anxious over what was proper conduct for married couples as far as intimacy because of the Watchtower articles.It actually caused severe stress in our relationship in those early naive years. Reading about how it affected others really opens some old wounds. Favorite quote so far "evil prevails when good men remain silent" . Well I'm off to read more .

Try calling" Isabel Bloom LLC " store in Moline .They are locally made statues , my relatives say they are the big gift item of the area , they ship! 1-309-797-4255 . They probably have a web site or try John Deere items also local . Quad- City online might have something to offer . Hope this helps.

I noticed a subtle difference in Topics...it's fascinating!

i was totally alone with my husband on our thoughts of the wtbts and had no idea so many people felt the same.
mainly i read and discussed things on how 'we' all coped now that we were well into our fades or had already escaped completely.

I have been reading posts here since this past summer ,then last month took the plunge and joined in the discussions. It has helped my mental health so much to finally have a place to talk freely w/o concern someone will turn you in or judge you for an opinion. I have been wondering if you long time posters have seen a large increase lately ,or is there alot that come and then go ? The advice here has been so helpful in my case. I have been slowly fading ,but still attend some meetings.Recently the blood issue was raised since my JW sister may need open heart and wants me to Stay as her No blood agent . This has caused me to come forward to my husband about my stand on the blood issue .At first he was really upset w/me, but we finally had a heart to heart ,and using advice from some here I handled it very gently.Come to find out he was more worried I was leaving him than me leaving being a JW. After confirming our relationship is on solid ground he is begining to be more open to me about his doubts, and even is missing meetings w/me. Time will tell . When I look around the hall ,when I go ,I'm astonished to see how truely gloomy Jehovah's' joyful' ones are. No wonder the added newbie's here!

Dear Ian, I enjoyed reading your post , your insights are very interesting . I'm sorry to hear you are having to deal with cancer ....But you are right many people truely care about you and send warm thoughts , some with prayers for your comfort and well being. We all are searching for our own truth in this life ,and I don't think you can go wrong with a life filled with love and genuine caring for others. I've been thinking alot lately about the story of Abraham... why did God consider him his friend ,maybe because he was an enlightened soul (.I sure it wasn't because of some particular organization of man that he followed ) Does that sound dumb? I have never spoken to someone with Buddahist beliefs ,kind of sheltered here in american mid-west, but I find it very interesting. Stay well Ian, keep sending posts to the JWD

Living proof: Elders are not spirit appointed
by IP_SEC inwitnesses say that elders are appointed by holy spirit.
the bible is the product of hs and when the body prays and uses the bibles qualifications for older men in the context of the perspective candidate hs is involved in his approval or disapproval.
then when the co passes the recommendation on the gb (or who ever actually makes the decision) these spirit appointed men are influenced by hs.. all well and good, the only problem is, it does not work.
